Julien Seneschal

Julien Seneschal is a professor of dermatology at the Department of Dermatology, University Hospital of Bordeaux, and the National Reference Center for Rare Skin Disorders. He is responsible for managing the Skin Inflammatory Disorders Unit and the Vitiligo Clinic. Following a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard University, where his research focused on skin immunology, he established the Immuno-Dermatology team (CNRS, UMR5164, ImmunoConCept, University of Bordeaux) with the aim of gaining a better understanding of the immune pathogenesis of vitiligo.

He has authored numerous clinical and research articles on skin inflammatory diseases and vitiligo, which have been published in reputable journals such as the Journal of Investigative Dermatology, Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, Science Translational Medicine, and Immunity. Julien Seneschal previously served as a board member of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR) and was the past-president of the French Society for Research in Dermatology. Currently, he serves as the co-coordinator of the Vitiligo Task Force, which recently published worldwide expert recommendations for the diagnosis and management of vitiligo.

In recognition of his contributions, Julien Seneschal has received awards from the French Society for Research in Dermatology, the Roche Posay European Foundation Award, and the Charles Grupper (Leo Pharma) Award.
