Dr. Cécile Clavaud, is a biochemist, renowned skin microbiome expert, and current Head of Laboratory within the Skin Microbiome Knowledge group at L’Oréal Research and Innovation in France. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Paris-Saclay and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the prestigious Institut Pasteur in Paris before joining L’Oréal in 2011. Her advanced research focuses on host-microbe interactions at the strain level, specializing in scalp disorders like dandruff, skin aging dynamics, and the impact of environmental stressors such as pollution. Utilizing both in vivo epidemiological studies and in vitro reconstructed skin models, her scientific leadership has directly driven major dermatological innovations. An active and recognized contributor to the scientific community, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in top-tier journals such as Microbiome, Scientific Reports, and the Journal of Dermatology.
