Dr. Claus Johansen is Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aarhus University, and Head of the research laboratory at the Department of Dermatology, Aarhus University Hospital, Denmark. His research focuses on the immunological mechanisms underlying inflammatory skin diseases, including psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, and atopic dermatitis, with particular emphasis on signal transduction pathways and the role of distinct lymphocyte subsets in the skin.
Dr. Johansen received his MSc in Molecular Biology and his PhD and doctoral degree of medical science from Aarhus University. He has been awarded the European Skin Research Foundation New Investigator Award and the LEO Foundation Gold Award. He is a member of the ESDR and EADV, serves on the board of the Nordic Dermatology Associations Research Committee, and is a Councilor of the International Psoriasis Council.
