Viktoria Eleftheriadou

Prof Viktoria Eleftheriadou is a Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Institute for Global Health and Wellbeing, School of Medicine, Keele University. She is a Co-Director and Steering Committee Chair of the Global Vitiligo Atlas (GLOVA), an international initiative under the auspices of the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) focused on global vitiligo epidemiology, disease burden, and standardisation of research and care, including a global pharmacovigilance registry.

She is the Lead for the Vitiligo Clinic and Research for both adult and paediatric patients at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust and The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, and is a substantive NHS Consultant Dermatologist with broad clinical expertise in inflammatory skin diseases.

She completed her dermatology training in the East and West Midlands (UK) and obtained a PhD in Clinical Dermatology from the University of Nottingham, UK, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). Her doctoral and subsequent research has focused on evidence-based dermatology, vitiligo, clinical trial methodology, and phototherapy. She has also received multiple competitive grants to support and advance her research in vitiligo.

Prof Eleftheriadou has led and contributed to numerous national and international research programmes, including global clinical trials in vitiligo and eczema and development of global consensus initiatives to standardise disease assessment and management. 

She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals including The Lancet, British Journal of Dermatology, and JAMA, and serves as Section Editor for the British Journal of Dermatology. Her contributions have been recognised with awards from the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD), and the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD).
